The Luna Drive In Cinema FAQs

Ticketing

How will I receive my Drive-In ticket?

If you have booked a ticket via our website, you will receive an order confirmation email from orders@thelunacinema.com. (If you cannot see your ticket, check your spam just in case it ended up there).

Although your number plate is also your ticket and may grant you entry, we do ask that as you arrive at The Luna Drive In Winter Cinema, you make sure you have either your printed or digital ticket ready to show our team.
Misplaced your ticket? You can  login into your account and resend your ticket before arriving.

We do recommend either printing your tickets in advance or arriving with the pdf already loaded on your phone, just in case you are unable to access them on your smartphone.

What if I forget my ticket?

Please bring your ticket along – if you do forget it, we have a record of all bookings so if you provide our steward with your details, we will be able to admit you into the event. All audience members including children (3 and over) must have a valid ticket for entry.

What's the difference between a standard and large car tickets?

Both of these tickets are the same price, we just need to know how many large cars to expect (SUVs, People Carriers, etc) as we park cars in a way that allows the best view for everyone. If you have a large car but have a standard ticket, we reserve the right to park you in the correct area for your car size.

Help, I can't find my Drive-In ticket?

Misplaced your ticket? You can login into your account and resend your ticket before arriving!

Simply log in and head to your name and account on the top right corner of the menu – you will then be able to see your orders and resend your tickets.

Within your account, you can also change the details on your account and preferred email address too!.

My numberplate has changed since booking, what do I need to do?

Upon arrival your car numberplate will be scanned by our box office system – this will bring up your ticket info and grant you access. This helps us to keep the arrival as speedy as possible.

Should you wish to change your number plate ahead of the event,  please email info@thelunacinema.com with your order number (ideally)/the email you booked your ticket with, and the updated numberplate. And our team will simply update your booking information for you, no problem.

However, if you are not sure of the numberplate of the car you will use or if it is within 48 hours of the screening, please do not worry! On the day, you can simply bring along your ticket and our onsite Drive-In team can manually scan this for you to allow you entry.

About The Luna Drive In Cinema

How many people are allowed in my car?

A general admission ticket admits one car and that includes all occupants. In the interest of safety for all road users, we do require that guests do not exceed the number of people your car was made for, and entry will be denied for those who exceed this.

Can I sit outside my car?

No, customers need to remain in their cars for the screening, apart from if they need to use the toilet facilities or to collect their hot food order.

Can I smoke at the event?

If you wish to smoke or vape, please speak to one of our on-site team who will allow you to leave the site and readmit you when you are finished. Please dispose of your rubbish responsibly.

Can I watch the film from my truck bed or boot of my car?

We do not allow people to watch from their boots or truck beds.

Can we park together with friends or family?

Parking spaces will be allocated upon arrival. If you and your friends arrive together and have the same ticket type, we will do our best to situate you in close proximity but this cannot be guaranteed. Please also bear in mind that cars are positioned dependent on their height and whether they are a large vehicle or not so this may impact whether or not you can be parked near each other.

Are there height restrictions on cars?

All vehicles must be under 2 meters high for everyone to enjoy the full experience. If you are bringing a large car, please select a large car ticket on booking and you will be directed to the appropriate parking spot on site to ensure a clear view of the screen for all during their visit to the The Luna Drive In.

Are your speakers cleaned after each screening?

Yes, all the devices will be cleaned and sanitised between each screening. You collect them on entry and return them when you leave without having to leave your car. It couldn’t be more simple.

Can I open my car window during the film?

Yes, all cars will be positioned far enough apart to avoid disturbing others.

How close will the next car be to me?

Cars will be spaced so you can easily walk between vehicles to and from the toilet and to collect your food. The cars will be parked next to each other like in similar to a carpark so if you do need to leave your car please be aware of people in the car next to you as you leave and return to your vehicle.

How do we hear the movie?

You will get a personal digital cinema quality speaker to put into your car upon arrival. These are wirelessly set up and ready to go, there’s no need to tune them in and you don’t need to have your radio on draining your battery! This will not only allow you to hear your favourite festive film but also place food and drinks orders straight from its built-in screen – allowing you to do our Drive In cinemas in style.

I drive a convertible. Can I have my car roof down during the screening?

Yes. Please note, we do not allow people to watch from their boots or truck beds.

I have a van, can I park side on?

No, to ensure a smooth transition between events all cars are asked to face forward. If you have a van or other large vehicle, please select a large car ticket and you will be directed to the appropriate parking spot on site.

Furthermore please note that high-top vans, campervans or any vehicles of this height will be placed on the back row to ensure a clear view of the screen for all during their visiting to The Luna Drive In.

Will I have a good view?

We’ve set the site up to allow a good view from all cars. When you book, you’ll be asked to pick if you have a standard or a large car (SUV, People Carrier etc) – this is simply so we can space cars out successfully as they arrive to ensure the best view for all.

Are there toilet facilities?

Yes, we have toilets and accessible toilets on site. Do ask an on-site member of staff to direct you to the facilities.

Can I bring my child?

Children are permitted at our events, but please be aware that they must adhere to the film’s certification and our stewards will check to make sure that all audience members are the suitable age to see the film. Valid photographic ID will be required for any patron we believe to be under the age certification of the film. The following ID can be used as proof of age: Current Passport, current UK Driver’s License or Provisional License, VALIDATE UK, CitizenCard.

Can I bring my dog?

Only registered assistance dogs are allowed at the screenings. Otherwise, no dogs are permitted at our events out of respect to other audience members. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Food + Drink

How will I order hot food at the screening?

Very easily! You will be able to order food and drink via your smartphone or directly from the in-house speaker box you will receive on arrival. The orders will be sent straight to our hospitality team and you will receive a text when it’s ready for you to collect.

What is the menu for my screening?

We use independent food traders for our delicious onsite food offerings and as such the menus may sometime be subject to change. As a result we don’t provide confirmation of the menus or allergen information in advance as we would hate for you to be disappointed on the night, but we do aim to provide a range of options including vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free whenever possible.

For our customers with dietary requirements you are of course very welcome to bring your own food and/or drinks to our events and just top up with any extra delicious food items once you are onsite and can be sure they are suited to your needs.

Will there be alcohol?

The Luna Bar will be on site with a full selection of hot and cold soft drinks and full range of alcoholic drinks available to order.
