Get KEW ready for five days (and nights) of outdoor cinema you couldn’t script any better at one of the world’s most stunning botanical gardens. Kew The Movies is the ultimate day out and the perfect addition to your summer plans.  

Take your pick between daytime and evening screenings from Luna’s fantastic line-up of films for families and adults ranging from the Oscar-winning Top Gun: Maverick, the heart-warming adventure of Moana, box office smash Avatar: The Way of Water, and much more. 

Pick the perfect spot and soak in the atmosphere of these gorgeous gardens as your favourite films play on the big screen. Kew Gardens provides a magical backdrop for this epic week of cinema. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy being part of a quintessentially British summer scene.

Morning Films & Garden Entry

What better way to start the day than with a great family favourite film, before staying on and enjoying Kew Garden’s unique beauty – it really is the perfect day out. Daytime films will be played with headphones.

Afternoon Films

From Disney’s Strange World to Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical, we have an incredible line-up of epic adventures and magical toe-tapping films, perfect for a summer’s afternoon with the whole family to enjoy. Daytime films will be played with headphones.

And in true Luna Cinema style, we have a fantastic selection of extraordinary films from perennial classics to brand-new blockbusters, for a summer’s evening of alfresco cinema – complemented with our full Luna Bar offering.

Directions & Travel

Kew the Movies will be located adjacent to the Pavilion Bar and Grill and we recommend using Lion Gate for easiest access. For evening screenings, please note the only exit will be Pavilion Gate onto Kew Road, as all other gates will be closed.

Travelling by Car

Parking at Kew is extremely limited, with spaces available on a first come, first serve basis. The car park is by Brentford gate. Please plan ahead if you are considering driving to Kew, as we cannot guarantee available spaces.Please be aware that the car park closes 30 minutes after the Gardens close and will not be open for evening screenings. For more information, click here.

 

Travelling by Public Transport

By bus: Route 65 stops close to Lion Gate which is the entrance you’ll need to use.

By train: Kew Bridge Station is 800m from Elizabeth Gate, via Kew Bridge. South West Trains runs services from Waterloo, via Vauxhall and Clapham Junction. Please note, there is no level access at Kew Bridge.

By Tube: Kew Gardens Station is 500m from Victoria Gate. It is Zone 3 and is served by the District Line (Richmond branch) and London Overground.

Important Information

🕛You can only access the event location at the time of your screening, please check the Doors Open time listed on your film of choice. For those coming to a morning screening, your ticket will allow you to enjoy the beauty of Kew Gardens following your film. Afternoon and Evening films do not include Garden entry due to finish time of these films.

🧺  Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic from home.

❗ Important: For morning and afternoon screenings, headphones will be used to allow you to enjoy the magic of your favourite movies on the big screen while Kew Gardens are open to other visitors. Please note that only those with a ticket are guaranteed headphones to enjoy the film – children under 3 will receive headphones subject to availability. Should you wish to secure headphones, please purchase a child ticket.
