Access will be via the main entrance. Step-free access is to the right of the entrance down the side of the building. Please make yourself known to a member of staff and they will assist if you need step-free access.

Travelling by Car

As the venue is in the center of the city, there is no parking onsite. There is a limited number of parking spaces on the road for disabled drivers; general parking in St Saviour’s Place is available in the evenings.

There are several public car parks within a short walking distance of SSY. The City of York Council’s website provides further details. Fossbank is the closest and open until 8pm. Monk Bar and Castle car parks are alternatives that are open all day.

Travelling by Public Transport

By Train:
York station is very close to the venue, it is just less than a mile away. York is on the East Coast Main Line. It is a key junction between London’s King Cross and Edinburgh. It is approximately five miles north of the point where the Cross Country and TransPennine Express routes via Leeds join the main line, connecting Scotland and the North East, North West, Midlands and southern England.

By Bus:
The Monk’s Cross park and ride bus (route number 9) stops nearby in Stonebow. Several other bus services also call at Stonebow.
